We got half way up and (like the footprints/hikers before us) had to turn around. Got to point on Kinsman Ridge Tr.(parallel to ski Tramway)where you couldn't tell if it was rock (covered with snow), ice (covered with snow) or just snow. Trying to do it would be guessing what was underneath you for a 100' length of trail. No way to bushwhack around it either. It looked like an avalanche hit this area in years past and what was underneath you was anyone's guess. Decided to live and hike another day so we went to The Flume and hiked the 2 mile loop - great stuff! |
