Trails: Road walk, bushwhack
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, March 20, 2026
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked roadside south of the peak by a farm on Brown Rd. This road was closed for mud season with a snowbank plowed in front of it. I think Mountain Rd was open all the way from both ends, but not sure. No posted signs on this end but I walked past a few houses before starting the whack.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Register is in a plastic container sitting on the ground. It was dry inside, but a glass jar hanging on a string would be much nicer, especially if there was deep snow.

Comments
Comments: I came over here after doing the Ayers Pond peaks loop. There was definitely more snow on those - the difference of Northern vs Southern exposure. I was expecting to be able to drive through to the Newbury end, but it’s closed for mud season. (Mountain Road should be open from both ends.) The loop I did was about 3.8 miles and took 1.5 hours. Nice woods everywhere, I saw a deer near the top and found view ledges at the summit. Patchy snow was not much of a problem, and there was even lots of bright green moss on the summit. I ended up doing about 1.5 miles of road walk to complete the loop and it was raining very lightly the second half of the hike. 4 peaks done in 4 hours.
