|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
left my b*tches at home today. the ladder section was very steep with the packed snow which may be tricky for some dogs as well as one section right before flume northbound that was sketchy |

 | Comments: |
Lincoln woods was covered in thick ice which broke my micro spikes so I changed to hillsounds a 1/2 mile in and kept them on the rest of the day. Osseo trail was a monorail of ice down low, then bumpy packed trail up high. Some running water that was avoidable. Not bad until the ladders. Ladders are buried under steep cement snow which makes it almost an ice luge requiring good spikes. Above the ladders is a maze of down trees and bent over trees over unpacked hard snow. Snow that was never packed with snowshoes and is only hard because of the temperatures so if it warms up at all this section will be extra soupy. Some big avoidable postholes here and there. Difficult to stay on trail at sometimes because of the amount of obstructions. Last part to flume is sketchy. Ice and sideways packed snow requiring some tree grabbing to not slide off the ridge. Flume to Liberty is in good condition from the amount of traffic from Liberty Springs. If heading that way from Lincoln woods bring a hachet and secure it. Let's stop leaving sharp items all over the whites guys. |
