Comments
Comments: Started up Falling Waters and was met by two hikers coming back reporting no snow bridge and the water was too deep to cross. They also said another group was attempting to find a spot up or down the stream to cross. We both decided to head up OBP and forget about Lincoln. Trail was easily navigated with spikes but crampons would have been helpful in some locations. Met another hiker on the way up for his first winter summit of Lafayette. We waited about a half hour for the summit to clear and made a push while the sun was out.Cold temps but very little wind on our way to summit. Passed a lot folks on my way down. Six newbies (All with proper attire) making there way to the summit. Kudos to them. It was great seeing Jeff and meeting Paul (an octogenarian) still going strong. SShoes went for a ride. Lots of snow down low which could turn into a mess with warming conditons. Better to have them and not need them.
