Varied spring conditions. Was on the fence about bringing snowshoes- there was one 5-10 min section on Round Pond-Piper link where snowshoes would have been helpful; otherwise I mostly wore spikes, although I did take them off and put them on again a couple times. Minimal potholing, except for that one section. Lots of ice esp. on red trail. Not sure if carriage Rd is open, but the parking lot looked good (empty). Spikes are definitely still needed on certain stretches. |
