| Comments: |
Trail started out brown and dry and changed to thin snow and ice around the third stream crossing (about 20 minutes inpacked snow and ice after the fourth stream crossing (the first stream crossing was right at the trailhead). The fourth stream crossing is in a gully and there is a gradual drop of maybe 75' down the trail before the stream crossing. I put on the Stabilicers before descending into the gully as it had snow/ice on it. I needed the ice traction from then on.
If you are just looking to hit the peak, then go to the left when you get to the trail loop around the peak but if you go to the right there is a spot where you can see Lake Winnepesaukee from the trail. |
