Plenty of parking and when I got back down all the snow was melted and it was black top again. |

Were plenty of little water crossings but the main one at Rocky Branch was no problem at all with snowshoes on, water seemed at normal everyday level just need to be careful not to step on ice parts. |

The only part that needs work is Isolation trail it was all low hanging branch and plenty of blow downs, it was easier to walk off the trail then on it in some sections. |

Throughout all the trails the base snow was hard with no sinking down at all with trace snow on top. On top of Engine Hill I decided to follow the path of the hiker ahead of me to the bushwhack not sure where it lead till I looked at a map and got an idea what it was doing. Once through I took the Isolation trail as I wanted to see the top part at the Davis trail and see if many made it through. On my way up old tracks were present but soon disappeared and I understand why because it was a game to play to dodge the pine branches and keep off the snow on them. On the Davis path the closer you get to Isolation a monorail starts to appear but not much to it. Once on top I learned from the hiker in front of me of what the Iso express trail was and took that and that was the way to take no pine branches to fight. On the way down snow was melting and the small water crossings were getting wider. With what the weather has been like the last week it was great to get one last winter day to finish my winter 4800. |
