Comments
Comments: Trail was nicely firmed up and traction with spikes was generally good with a few patches of hard ice my dull spikes couldn’t penetrate. Some rock hopping helped to avoid these spots. Met one hiker carrying snowshoes who did the entire loop going in our direction in bare boots . Our snowshoes went for a ride as well [should always bring when venturing into the high peaks with deep snow pack for safety reasons]. Trails were just too icy, bumpy, rocky, post holed … I brought my K 10s but didn’t use them. The spots where they would have been helpful were not enough to justify destroying them on so many rocks and bare trail.
