Lots were muddy. Had to go about 100' up the road to hit a solid snow line. Put on spikes for rest of the day (Snowshoes would have maybe/maybe not been better? Saw four skiing up). There was ice for a short distance with some bare pavement visible. From this point for the first half of the ascent it was reasonably solid if I stayed on the Cat tracks or the ski tracks. Next quarter had me moving around to use old steps from others or seeking the tracks to avoid making more prints. Last quarter was really soft and had to follow other prints. The BRT was a solid track to the summit. Two were going down the BRT from the summit in snowshoes. |
