Comments
Comments: About 2”-3” of fluffy snow covered the trails. Stony Brook Trail was well-packed down with a light covering of fluffy snow. Carter-Moriah Trail was mostly packed down, but some drifts made couple of turns a bit tricky to find. The bald summit didn’t have much snow but afforded great views. The descent was tedious on Stony Brook Trail due to the warming temps (high 30s up to 41F) that caused constant balling on the bottom of our snowshoes that we had to repeatedly whack to dislodge. I recommend oiling the bottom of snowshoes/microspikes to reduce balling in warmer temps.
