1st water crossing was frozen over but a thin crust. 2nd and 3rd water crossing was frozen over and stable. |

Found an REI liter and a half water bottle. |

Dealers choice for traction. Trail was solid top to bottom. We used spikes from the car to the beginning of the steeps then I switched to snowshoes (for the televators) but my partners stayed in spikes. I switched to bareboots after the first water crossing on the descent. All a moot point with the snow so probably back to snowshoes door to door with 4" of new snow nearby here in the Mt Washington Valley and probably similar or more on Carrigain. |
