Comments
Comments: Blueberry Pasture Trail and Straightback Mt Trail are groomed for snowmobiles to the summit so I wore spikes to the summit of Straightback. I then switched to snowshoes and they stayed on the rest of the day.

Summit of Straightback to the intersection of Marsh Crossing hasn't seen a ton of traffic and had some pretty awful sections of postholing.

Followed one set of snowshoe tracks across Marsh Crossing to the summit of West Quarry

From West Quarry all the way to Anna was untouched. Most of the trail only had 4-6" on top of the existing path which made for some great snowshoeing. That said, the more open areas along the route had much more drifting, including a few sections where I was breaking trail up to my knees. Descending the Rand ledge wasn't bad, the snow was clinging to the rock pretty well.

As I approached Klem I could hear a fair amount of snowmobile traffic and also what sounded like target shooting. The red trail from Mack to Anna was a bit of slog as temps warmed up and the sun had made the snow really sticky.

Surprisingly I didn't see a single person all day until I started descending from Anna. The red trail down to Old Stage Road was sticky but well packed. Happy to report that everyone I came across on my descent was also wearing snowshoes.
