|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Top part of Garfield Risge Trail sign is broken. I’d be surprised if it lasts the winter. Trail itself in good shape…no blowdowns |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Met two very well-behaved dogs. This is generally a good moderate trail for dogs, although some might have difficulty with the last pitch at the top. |
|
 | Bugs: |
N/a |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Found the mount for a go-pro about 2 miles up the trail. Left it on top of the road gate post. |

Beautiful conditions today. Bare booted to trailhead. On trail, one of us stayed in snowshoes the whole way, 2 had spikes the first 2 miles then switched to snowshoes. Trail still unconsolidated above 3000 feet, snowshoes are the way to go.
Also, all those Dr Seuss trees on the top third of the trail are heavy with snow. They’ll be dumping that snow with tomorrows warmer temps. If you’re hiking this weekend, you’ll want a shell with a good (unless you enjoy snow down your back)! |
