Comments
Comments: I followed snowshoe tracks up through fields, which ended around 1500’ elevation. I hopped into the recently logged woods, deep snow covering some slash and junk. Some skid paths were useful until 2000’ elevation, where I briefly followed a wide good road across the hill but soon left it to bushwhack directly at the ridge in good woods. I came out just west of Middle Pilot, signed in, went by the cabin which looked in good shape but the door was frozen and I didn’t want to break it, so I didn’t go inside. After an out and back to Mary and then over to Hutchins, I followed my tracks back down. A great day but quite a workout in the deep snow. It did get firmer as I got higher, the lower half was much softer.
