snowshoes door to door. summit trail was partially broken out at the bottom, then heavily drifted over. snow drifts were over a foot deep at times and pretty hard packed. link trail & old woods road was broken out by skiers. I stayed left on the blue trail and broke out the trail that creates a larger loop around to the north summit. the rest of the blue trail was broken out to he summit by skiers. unfortunately white dot trail was postholed AF by someone that I caught up to on the descent wearing so much sunscreen he looked like he was ready for badwater 100. should've brought snowshoes instead of sunscreen. postholes were waist deep at times. my dogs were very disappointed, I saw a single tear fall down my puppy's face as she struggled to hike through them. I tried to fix the trail as much as possible knowing he was behind me ruining it again anyways. he went off trail a few times, probably had a hard time seeing with all the sunscreen, so I created some new tracks on the actual trail. if you're postholing up to your reproductive organs you should probably go home and let people with more than two brain cells break out the trail. made out way over to the south summit using the link and summit trails which now have multiple tracks. descended down incline trail breaking through drifts on the top half then catching up to other tracks. if you had to shovel one day, you should probably wear snowshoes the next. duh. |
