Comments
Comments: My 3rd stay at hut after 2 fails to out and back these 2 peaks for FEB. Thursday a bluebird day and trails expected minimally broken past Zealand peak. After the ladder still early Thurs morning to my delight moonlite & crew/5 total snowshoers were charging ahead to Bondcliff. Thank you! Hardpacked to Zeacliff then firm to Zealand, softer to Guyot which was windswept but snowshoes still perfect, soft dropping down to campsite,West Bond Spur fairly firm-about a foot of the cairn poking through snow covered rocks, soft to Bond. The trails were all well broken so there was no guessing and very few postholes, big thing is branches in your face so protect the eyes if you can. Firming nice on return, ladder was getting slick. I saw 2 others doing West Bond/Bond and 1 at least did Bondcliff. In afternoon there were fresh tracks where Twinway heads toward S Twin but could be just someone checking the trail condition. Below hut A-Z is broken quarter to half mile as people did Whitewall then nothing further. Spur to Guyot campsite not broken. Shoutouts to JustRob for killing it last weekend breaking out to Guyot and Dexter's group next day breaking out Bond/W Bond. Also shoutouts to Parker, Sadie and Jess hut caretakers making the stays great! I know more snow is coming but I met 2 backpackers heading in Friday from 302 planning on tomorrow breaking out Zealand and Hale once wind dies down.
