The trail is in excellent shape! The bushwhacks are easy to find as the main trails have not seen traffic since last snowfall. The trail is stable and relatively wide until ~500' below the peak. Snowshoes were the choice from door to door and I would caution against using just traction. There are numerous post holes, especially below 3000', and using only spikes in the relative warmth we're having will tear up the trail. The final 100' is steep and loose, there's one particular part where the packed trail is falling apart and pulling yourself up the snow ledge is a bit awkward. Otherwise awesome and warm day even without any views. |
