Comments
Comments: Welp…that was interesting.

Dropped a car at Wapack and walked down Mountain Rd to the Ted’s trailhead. Saw the trail was broken out, so we were happy about that. Snowshoes went on, and it was soft (but broken) to the Ted’s/Carolyn’s junction. Several sets of tracks broke out Carolyn’s; we continued on Ted’s. After the last junction with Carolyn’s (just above the falls), we noticed the trail was much more roughly broken.

We continued up Ted’s, past the steeps, trying to smooth out the roughly broken one or two sets of snowshoe tracks. Eventually, we caught up to Michael and Sabrina, the two folks who had yeoman’s work busting out Ted’s. We took over breaking until we hit Cliff Trail which was fully broken and solid all the way to the summit.

Wapack coming down was also fully broken and solid, but still soft enough that snowshoes are the best option.

Was definitely not expecting to break through as much snow as we did. The top part of Ted’s below the Cliff junction, we were breaking through easily 18-24” of snow. There’s a TON of snow out there, so snowshoes are the way to go for the foreseeable future. With the incoming thaw/freeze this week, the next couple days will dictate how the track will set up going forward.
