Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at the end of W Shore Rd, right before the private road sign. The road was plowed up to here, and the end was widely cleared as a snowplow turnaround. The boat launch that people sometimes park at down the road is not plowed at all this winter.

Comments
Comments: I walked up the private road to the boulder that is about halfway between the two telephone poles and hopped into the woods; there is currently only one boulder on the side of the road discernable from the deep snow. Going into the woods from the boulder I easily saw the red blazes that others have noted. I followed them for less than a hundred yards before they seemed to vanish. From there I pointed straight uphill for a little bit until I got to the edge between the shallower graded open hardwood forest and the very very steep tighter pine trees. At that point I worked to my left a little bit, curving around the shoulder to climb up the mountain's northern spine. I enjoyed some partially obstructed ledge viewpoints towards the east as I worked my way south along the spine to the very large cairn denoting the summit.

From the summit, I descended due west, enjoying some more open ledges and their views. Below the ledges I started angling northwest, sliding down through the deep snow. Once into the more level open hardwoods I angled due north to get back to my car.

With the big loop I made, this was exactly 1 mile. After losing the blazes early on, I never found any signs of the trail again. Snow was very deep in the woods, and I sunk in quite a lot even with snowshoes.
