sadly I kept my b*tches home because they'll be peak bagging this weekend. drifts were at least 3 dogs deep at times so it would have been tricky but doable |

 | Comments: |
Few inches of snow on top of mostly packed trails down low. Spikes would have been slow. I wore snowshoes door to door. Deeper snow going up the steeps until pine bend takes a sharp left turn, then drifts so deep I was worried I turned in the wrong spot until I occasionally felt some base below my feet. Once back into the trees it was a mix of a somewhat packed trench and deep drifts. Trail disappeared at times. Between summits especially closer to Middle the drifts were 4 feet deep at times, I'm 5'2", so I mostly swam. I took a break to rap flithy lyrics for a bit. It helped. Praise Cardi B. Going back down I stomped out as much as drifts as possible. Not to toot my little gridder horn but trail looks good and is easy to follow now. Only saw one other baddie getting after it today. Definitely need snowshoes until after the weekend traffic. Unless postholing is your kink. I won't be back this winter so idc. |
