Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I cleared the few tight spots going up Carter-Moriah from Gorham to the summit. Some step over and bend under leaners are still there. The section between the summit and the top of Stony Brook trail has more leaners and blowdowns that require more ducking and squeezing through the trees.

Comments
Comments: The trails are in great shape. The surface is mostly firmly packed snow with a very few areas of exposed ice. I used snowshoes as did two others while I saw four in just boots or microspikes. Two of the folks in boots followed me down and commented that it was much easier walking behind me in my snowshoes than when they were walking on the two or so inches of fresh snow. They didn’t have snowshoes with them. The section of the Carter-Moriah trail from the summit to the top of the Stony Brook trail had some drifting as well as a few open areas where the snow had blown off exposing ice on the rock slabs.
