Comments
Comments: Cotton Mountain Trail was packed and in good shape, snowshoes still needed. The first 1-2 hundred meters of Crawford Ridgepole had been minimally broken out, but that track disappeared at the downhill squeeze-between-the-rocks obstacle. From there, for the rest of my hike I was breaking trail, including serious drifts near the summit of Livermore. Great views from the top, though. If anyone knows the origin of the granite post up there, I'd love to hear about it. It appears to have 'JK' and '1913' inscribed on one side and '25' on the other. The Prescott Trail was a gradual descent, and the Old Highway was a mostly flat slog back to Rt 113, deteriorating to deep gullies near the end. Then it's a short road walk back to the CM trailhead.
