Polecat is pretty crusty from ski usage with softer edges and pockets. Wildcat ridge is roughly broken, tho not at all consolidated, snowshoes are essential for current conditions. They're necessary for the uphill usage and going on the ridge without them is a surefire way to personal misery and accumulating bad karma. Surprisingly down Wildcat A looks much more packed down than the ridge, as for why anyone would wanna do Wildcat A as an out and back is a question to which my knees don't wanna know the answer |
