Went up Ike first, easy packed spikes highway, saw some people, its a little branchy on the knobs in the trees. Summit cone less icy than last month. Pierce to Jackson is much softer and semi-consolidated in many places. We stayed in the spikes the entire way and it was pretty manageable, only minor postholing. Lovely sunset on Jackson, down is also a spikes highway and we put on headlamps at the junction of the branches. Did the short roadwalk at the end in the dark. Pierce to Jackson could use more snowshoe traffic to fully pack it down |
