19 mile brook is perfectly tracked out and all you need is spikes. Heading up to Wildcat A was broken out but the snow was pretty soft. Snowshoes were the way to go. Same for heading up to Carter Dome. The trail up to Carter was kind of choppy with some sections of looser snow and some areas where people left post holes. At the junction at Zeta pass, it looked like the trail was broken out headed to the other Carter's, but I didn't go very far in that direction. I kept my snowshoes on all the way down Carter Dome trail back to 19 mile brook but micro spikes would have been fine. Trail conditions were very good overall. |
