Comments
Comments: Spring Hiking with variable conditions is here. We climbed Washington on Friday using spikes to the snowline above the ladders on the Lion Heads Trail. Two of us used snowshoes for awhile in the snowfields but they weren't necessary even though the snow was soft. Spent the night in the Observatory which is something special. Wind was 60 to 75mph and walking on the deck was interesting. Great stars and sunrise. MWO Staff was terrific and we met Marty the MWO cat. THis morning we went on mostly bareground to Peirce. One snowfield above the hut where spikes were helpful but other than that barebooted to Pierce. Then spikes most of the way until the ice petered out. THanks to Rick, Celia, Alan, Nick, and Karen for a great adventure.
