| Comments: |
Mt Tecumseh Trail below the upper crossing of Tecumseh Brook had lots of dry snowless stretches mixed with a thin layer of hard packed slush. There was more frozen slush and snow from thereon. Made the ascent to the summit of Mt Tecumseh with no traction without much difficulty (no post holing). Used the Sosman Trail to approach the summit which was bare rock in areas with a southern exposure.
Continued on to West Tecumseh where I encountered deeper snow. I sunk in to about a couple of feet in the deepest snow drifts. There were moose tracks between the peaks.
Nice views from both Mt Tecumseh and West Tecumseh as well as the outlook at the ski slope. Met many hikers enjoying the day. |
