Great afternoon for above treeline! Wasn't sure what I'd find for snow on the lower Greenleaf Trail portions. It was dry with a little ice below the outlook (below ~3000'). Saw a couple of rock climbers who missed the route to the Eaglet and were backtracking. Around 3200' to the hut snowshoes were great for the monorail. The only other person on the portion of trail below hut was in sneakers postholing 2' down occasionally. Above the hut there was some stable monorail but noone was in snowshoes so I didn't use them. Good dry footing above treeline. Views to VT - awesome day. Good to run into Craig and tag along for a bit. |
