Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two crossings on Carter Dome Trail were fine - on the first one someone tracked left and got their boots wet. I tracked right and it seemed nicely snowbridged. Second crossing (immead. before the switchbacks) had a nice snowbridge

Trail Maintenance Notes: Few blowdowns on the ridge of course and one or two on North Carter Yrail/Imp Trail. A couple smaller ones on the ridge could be hand sawed out

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Didn't note anything at trailhead or along the trail. I only mention this because there seems to always be something lost up there

Comments
Comments: Spikes and snowshoes yesterday. Started with spikes - 19MB Trail had hardly an inch of fresh powder over a very icy crunchy lovely base.. quick conditions. Mostly the same with Carter Dome Trail, though it was a little more snow than ice. Spikes to Zeta Pass, though snowshoes could be put on a few hundred feet before to smooth it out - I wasn't sure if it was drifting or if the trail was actually snowy.. seemed both. Snowshoes went on at the Pass. Only a couple of snowshoes tracks up there, and it is very snowy on Carter-Moriah Trail with lots and lots of drifting (though not huge drifts) in the trees and a couple spots above treeline. This made a bit of a mess and there's a couple spruce traps where drifts were avoided above treeline. It was also very windy so expect more drifting. Kept snowshoes on down North Carter Trail and back to spikes on Imp Trail. These two trails were really lacking snow with some thick icy spots and lots of rocks still poking through - kind of a slow descent. Saw only two people early on who started at the same time.
