Comments
Comments: The lot and road have been plowed and sanded, so are boots are good there. Otherwise this is textbook snowshoe conditions. A solid base is forming with a couple inches on top need to be packed down. You could try spikes or bare boots, but you’ll quickly wish you had snowshoes on.
Going up blueberry ledge was mostly fine, but the usual tricky parts are even more tricky right now. On second thought I would have rather come down Blueberry Ledge than going up, especially since ice isn’t an issue.
The ridge has decent drifts and will continue to need snowshoes for a while. Dicey’s Mill is by far the most packed down, but still needs snowshoes with all the drifting.
Overall a great day with not another soul on the trails. Conditions are very good if you like your snowshoes.
