 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I got permission, as requested, to park where Green Hill Road morphs into Iron Mtn. Road. There is plowed parking 0.2 mile up Iron Mtn. Road. It is sort of steep, plowed but not sanded, so good luck! |

This was a spectacular hike. The views! Solitude! Blue skies!
Barebooted 1.4 miles up Iron Mtn. Road which was groomed. Snowshoes on at the summer trailhead. 2-4" of fluffy snow over an old track to the ledges. Wandered around here and there finding excellent viewpoints and snack spots and had the whole place to myself.
No one had been down to the mine recently. It is blazed yellow all the way - yay. Saw some bobcat tracks in here. The mine has some cool, big icicles!
I got 7.8 miles round trip with about 2200 feet of vertical.
