Comments
Comments: Snowshoes were the best choice of traction after about 0.5-1 miles in on pine bend. Down low the trail had 1-2 in of new snow covering an established track so barebooting or spikes was costing more energy than using snowshoes. Everyone I saw besides 1 person had snowshoes on once the trail got steep and across the ridge. Steep section was pretty easy with snowshoes, just a few spots had thick ice under the snow and required more care. Up high there were drifts on some areas of the ridge and probably closer to 3-4 in of new snow over the track. Trail was easy to follow. At least 8 people were on pine bend today, most with snowshoes so it should be in good shape but I still recommend snowshoes due to the loose snow.

I think two people came up north slide today. There were no tracks heading down scaur ridge and maybe 1 or 2 old tracks heading down sabbaday brook. There were old tracks going down to South tripyramid but it sounded like at least a couple people were maybe headed that way so it may be broken out now.
