Comments
Comments: We barebooted the first 3.5 miles. After the road walk, the first mile on Garfield trail had barely a covering of snow. The next mile was packed down and easy to walk. We put the snowshoes on when the snow was a little deeper and softer. The trail was in great shape all the way to the summit. Some very minor drifting shortly before the junction that leads you to the summit, but it’s so short, it’s hardly even worth mentioning. The summit is covered in snow and some icy exposed rock. Coming back out, the trail was even better. We passed lots of peeps going up mostly in microspikes. Wearing snowshoes seems to be easier, imo. We took ours off when the snow got thin and the trail bony again on the lower trails. Our pups were the only doggos out here enjoying the snow.
