Very short hike with family members, just to the viewpoint 1.2 miles up from the road, via the pasture and the short stretch that parallels the main trail. The trail snow cover at least to the viewpoint has suffered from recent rain and thawing, and yesterday's 2" of new snow hid a lot of ice on the trail. There really wasn't enough snow cover to warrant snowshoes, at least that far up, so we went in spikes. |
