 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked at Halfmoon Pd boat launch parking and walked down the road to the trail. With snow right now the one pull off area was tight on the narrow road, and not much at trailhead. About a 0.6 mi walk from boat launch parking to trailhead. |

Beautiful snow covered tree hike, with some big flakes falling as we hiked. We carried snowshoes and didn't ever feel like we needed them, a couple of inches of snow over very hard ice, so we wore traction. Microspikes did the best, but up in the last 1/4 mi before the summit trail crampons would be useful, some ledges sections were slick under the snow with very hard ice.
Nice gradual grades, beautiful woods, and lots of critter tracks, a bobcat was meandering back and forth across much of the trail. Perfect snowy morning hike |
