About a 1/2 dozen or so vehicles in the Rocky Branch lot off NH route 16 at the start; half that at the end. Lot was icy with a thin layer of fresh snow over the ice |

The trails and bushwhacks were well packed out for most of the way to the summit, with the last bit of the Iso Express bushwhack, Davis Path, and Isolation summit spur not so packed out. It did get a lot better on the way down as more snowshoers going up helped pack it down. That said, it was really hiker's choice whether to wear snowshoes or spikes- postholing was minimal, even if one wore spikes.
Snowed all day, with the heaviest snow falling near and at the summit, but there was no wind at all except on the summit ledges. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere up there for sure. |
