Comments
Comments: Went up the steeper Winslow trail and down the more gradual Barlow trail. In general there was a lot of ice with about a half inch of new snow. Seems like these trails are similar to earlier reports of thick ice flows, and may possibly have even more ice to contend with after the recent rains. Winslow was much more icy with large flows over many sections of the upper trail. My newer pair of Hillsounds grabbed the ice with no issues. Another hiker I chatted with ascended and descended Barlow with yaktraks, which I would not recommend, especially on the Winslow trail.

The access road was hardened snow; I bare booted up to the trails (summer lot).

Winds at the summit were really blowing; didn't stay long, just enough to grab the summit and get back down below treeline.
