 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water Crossings over Franconia and Lincoln Brook are incredibly sketchy, I'd highly recommend taking Black Pond both ways. The brooks are frozen over but there are large holes and it's difficult to judge the ice condition. |

 | Comments: |
Trail was mostly unbroken from Brutus to the summit, small patches of packed snow but difficult to stay on track, very deep drifts up on the summit plateau. |
