Snowshoes the whole way up and back. Trail was well-packed, but televators were definitely helpful on the continuous steep ascent. Icy patches on the ledges but enough snow cover that we weren’t too worried about out traction. Last half mile up to Rim Trail would have been hard to follow if not broken out by previous hikers. Thanks to Cannon Ski Patroller John, who directed us to the safest path from the cafe across the ski lanes back to the summit trail. Saw only two other hikers all day. |
