| Comments: |
Mt Kinsman trail was muddy in sections up to the bald knob spur. About 1/2 mile from the junction we switched to micros as there was a significant amount of ice (crampons would be ideal through a few sections of ice but we managed with spikes. just before the junction with Kinsman Ridge trail the monorail was alot more prominent but broke away in sections as we walked over it.
the rest of the trail to South Kinsman summit was a mix of dry trail, ice, and an eroding monorail. Great sunrise seen from the North Kinsman outlook. what a great night hike with tailgate. Passed a solo lady going up Mt Kinsman trail about a mile from the parking lot. Great day to be out in the woods |
