 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Seven Dwarfs at 7am. Leave $10 and say hi if the owners are around. Lot was much more full at 2pm. Plenty of parking at Beaver Brook picnic area all day. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The big crossing on North Twin Trail has a nice ice bridge forming. We opted to rely on the obvious rocks sticking out, but the safe path is becoming clearer. The smaller crossing on Gale River trail are all pretty straight forward. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of blow downs, particularly on Gale River and North Twin trails. About a dozen in total and all are 8-12". Guessing this will be a multi day clean up effort in the spring.
All have nice paths forming around them. |

 | Comments: |
The Twins and Galehead are firming up nicely. They don't appear to have a lot of recent traffic, but the traffic that has been there has formed a very nice base wide enough to comfortably walk in snowshoes. Today was a combo of bare boot and snow shoes:
Seven Dwarfs to just past the big crossing (2700' elevation point) - bare boots
Snowshoes from 2700' up to the Twins, over to Galehead, and down to about 2700' again
Bare boots on the way out
