Comments
Comments: Started at 4 in the morning…one third is road…gate was actually open…thought about driving up a bit but didn’t…was wearing plain hiking boots….made it to the old hotel and entered woods and put on semi aggressive spikes…had the standard kotulas but glad I went with the bigger ones…much of the trail once you get in woods is just staircases ice flows…went slow and steady…I was using trekking poles as well….highly recommend them….made it to the false treeline at say 5.15….saw the sky line turning pink and kinda hurried from there but it was quasi sketchy and had been using head lamp whole time…path is good and marked and tramped on but again I would wear spikes and use poles…got to the top at 6 in the morning and waited another hour for sun to actually break horizon….damn beautiful…ate hot oatmeal and drank tea while I waited…it was epic….only met 1 other guy at the top….have fun…hope you enjoyed this…be safe!
