Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Lots of drainage/snowmelt. Portions of the Ammo Ravine Trail are a stream, snowbridges are unstable. I postholed through into streams a couple of times. Nothing is impassable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One of the signs at LOC Hut broke off of the post. It's on the ground next to the post, pointing in the correct direction.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few dogs on the way up to LOC. They were having fun and not postholing like me!

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day, I was hiking in rolled up sleeves the entire day. Wore microspikes up to the Hut and barebooted the rest of the way. The Ammo Ravine Trail was pretty solid for most of the way (though that may have been the colder morning temps), monorail is forming, some postholes. Trail gets fairly difficult in the scrub: more postholing, lots of drainage, detours through spruce thickets. Above treeline there is very little snow left.

Crawford Path is a stream, but it's easy to walk on the rocks that border the path. Summit was great, in the 50's with low wind, sat on the observation deck for lunch. Summer-like conditions without tourists! Gulfside was dry and easy to follow.

Jewell Trail was dry in the rocks, increasing patches of snow in the scrub. Jewell is a mess from lower scrub down to about 4000 feet, packed trail area is about 6 inches wide in places, lots of postholes and soft snow. Below 4000 feet the trail is bare and dry for the most part, with a few patches of ice here and there which should be gone soon.
