 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The North Twin Trail crossing is not bridged and very sketchy. Do not trust the ice; stay on the rocks and do a leap of faith. All other crossings were easily navigated. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of blow-downs and debris. Way above my pay grade. Moved what I could, and left the rest. |

None. |

 | Bugs: |
None. |

 | Lost and Found: |
Lost my soul for a short time, but then found it. |

Not what I was expecting, but is it ever? Bare booted up to the Fire Warden junction. Then, spikes went on, 2" of fresh snow. Easy going till the river. Do not trust the ice; it will collapse. Stay on the rocks with spikes, and hope you stick the landing. Once above treeline, there were pretty deep drifts. If I had snowshoes, I would have put them on for the section from North to South. Don't worry, my tracks will be covered up tonight. Twinway was a fast descent. Up to Galehead was packed down beautifully. Down Gale River was a mix of packed snow, rocks, and ice. Bare booted the last 2 miles out. Massive blowdown on the CX trail before you get to the Beaver Brook parking lot. Heavy machinery is needed to fix that cluster. |
