A short walk up to an underrated gem of the Wapack Range.
Ground conditions were a mix of blue and black ice, frozen snow pack, and bare ground. I started in my old pair of spikes, but took them off soon after as they were not really needed. All icy areas were avoidable. The summit of Kidder has no snow or ice at all, just sunny, dry ledge.
A beautiful afternoon on top with wide views to the south. Boston was clearly visible in the distance. |
