Comments
Comments: Great sunny day on Liberty. Strong wind in the morning that died down around 12. Wore spikes for the whole summit, and barebooted the lower section on the way down. Lots of water on the lower half of the trail causing snow balling in spikes. 1-2” of new snow on the lower shelf, and bony. 4-5” drifts up near the campground. The Franconia Ridge trail had a few drifts of 2-3’. Snowshoes would be optimal above the ridge. We wore spikes and found a supportive trail surface, but saw a few fresh postholes. Saw 4 gray jays too!
