Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Greeley Pond Trailhead lot had 4-5 inches of churned up snow from folks parking in lot. Had been previously plowed. I muscled my way into lot with four-wheel drive (truck) with aggressive 10-ply tires. Still, it was some work to get in and out.

Comments
Comments: The lower section of the Greeley Pond Trail had a fresh coating of overnight snow. First 1.5 miles of the trail were consolidated well. Then the steeps up to East Osceola were a mixed bag - parts of trail were obliterated by blown in snow and had to be broken out again. Snow not consolidated well and powdery in sections. Some parts of trail had seen some prior traffic but the higher you got up, it looked as if only a set of one or maybe two tracks had been recently through the top - perhaps one boot track down from East Osceola and one set of snowshoes from East over to Mount Osceola then out towards the Tripoli egress. I wore mountaineering snowshoes from Greeley trailhead and the televators were frequently used especially to the summit of East Osceola. The trek over to Mount Osceola found sections of the trail completely blown in. 20-30 inches of snow off trail. Utilized the bypass around the ledges as it was draped with deep snow down the headwall. Snowshoes back to start of steeps of East Osceola. Snowshoes then got packed out and full crampons down through steeps of East Osceola to trailhead. Full crampons were the way to go - most efficient by far. Trail consolidated enough to not be scarred by the lack of snowshoe use.
