Terrific afternoon after a full morning at Pats Peak. Was afraid this place would be crowded but it wasn't bad. I used snowshoes because I still cannot find my spikes. I would say Spikes or snowshoes on the Winslow Trail would be fine. Snow is not that deep but the rocks still make the steep section a bit tedious. Snowshoes recommended for Winslow Trail side - people barebooting churned up the trail mid-section. Roadwalk portion - either spikes or snowshoes. Amazing views from summit as always. Snow in powerline area was not deep enough for skiing in my opinion; I didn't see any tracks, but, there were ski tracks on the road portion. Snow in the woods was soft and powdery however, just not that deep. |
