From Ferncroft parking lot, went up Old Mast to Lawrence, then down Kelley. Six to twelve inches of unpacked very fluffy powder, with a good twelve inches higher up. Slow going and snowshoes needed the whole way. Didn’t have the time or energy for the summit and instead headed down Kelley, but my son and I packed down the trails pretty well. Should be much quicker going for anyone following, but would still highly recommend snowshoes. A little dicey coming down through the box canyon on Kelley, but very doable. The Lawrence trail headed to Paugus beyond Kelley remains completely unpacked, with a good twelve inches of powder. Beautiful trails, especially the box canyon on Kelley, and great snowshoeing! |
