Great day to be out. I wore snow shoes the whole way and was very happy I did so. I followed a bare booter for at least two miles and there were small postholes everywhere. The snow needs to be packed down and freeze up a bit before leaving the snow shoes in the car. I did see two groups of two people descending near the summit and they had snow shoes on. On my descent there were two groups with snowshoes but at least six others with only spikes.
Snow shoes not needed above tree line as the wind has blown most snow around. Spikes definitely needed above tree line. There was lot of great snow-covered trees! |
